Trauma/PTSD Treatment
Trauma does not discriminate amongst people. PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), an often disabling condition resulting from trauma, can afflict anyone as well. Victims of sexual abuse, combat survivors, victims of crime, traumatic accidents, or those suffering the loss of a loved one are a few examples of people who can all suffer from PTSD.
The Trauma Resolution outpatient programs at the Transformation Center are designed to help individuals understand the complex nature of both trauma and PTSD and to heal from the often debilitating effects.
Intensive Outpatient Program
Our Intensive Outpatient Program provides nine hours of group and individual therapy each week. We use several assessment tools to help identify the nature of the trauma and any behavioral risks. The program utilizes EMDR (eye movement desensitization & reprocessing), DBT (dialectical behavior therapy), educational sessions on relevant issues, group therapy centered on common PTSD issues, individual therapy sessions, and mind-body interventions.
Partial Hospitalization Program
For even more acute PTSD, we also a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) which offers additional therapy and a medical component. The name “partial hospitalization” is slightly confusing to some. PHP is still an outpatient program in which the client returns home every evening. PHP meets 5 days each week providing 20 hours of group counseling, individual counseling, medication evaluation/management, educational information related to diagnosis and mind-body interventions.
At Transformation Center we have created an emotionally safe environment where clients can learn to express often overwhelming emotions and to deal with the painful, unacceptable, terrifying and incomprehensible events in their lives.
