She has over 15 years of experience working in the medical field and specializes in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to help patients overcome psychiatric issues like addiction, anxiety, eating disorders, mood disorders, and trauma.

Dr. Mukatira completed her undergraduate education at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where she majored in computer science. Following her graduate studies, Dr. Mukatira completed both an internal medicine and psychiatry residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis.

Prior to her tenure at The Transformation Center, Dr. Mukatira worked as a mental health care provider in a variety of settings, including the Memphis Mental Health Institute, the Southeast Mental Health Center, the Memphis VA Medical Center, and several private practice settings. In 2009, she founded her own private practice, Blues City Psychiatry, PLLC, in Memphis. There, she routinely treats patients who are living with anxiety disorders, PTSD, depressive disorders, and bipolar disorder.

Dr. Mukatira understands that living with a mental illness can be limiting and, in some cases, even disabling. Her goal is to help you find the treatment you need to restore your sense of well-being and improve your quality of life.

Dr. Mukatira is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
